Managing Partner of TGX Capital. From 2003 through 2008, Marcelo was a partner at Vergent Partners AEF Ltda, a Brazilian M&A boutique, where he coordinated several financial advisory mandates, such as the acquisition of Destilaria Alcidia in 2007 for ETH Bioenergia SA (Odebrecht Group), and the R$100 million structured loan for GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes S.A. Mr. Kneese has previously worked as a Director of ING Bank NV in São Paulo and as a Vice President of Corporate Finance for The Chase Manhattan Bank. He was a professor of the Corporate Finance and Capital Markets courses at FAAP’s MBA Program and at the International Commerce Masters Degree at University of São Paulo. Mr. Kneese holds an MBA from New York University, a Bachelor in Law degree from São Francisco Law School – University of São Paulo (USP), and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from FAAP.

Entrepreneur with extensive operating experience in the Votorantim Group, where he has worked on the post-merger integration of acquired cement plants in Canada and the United States, project, planning and implementation of cement plants in U.S. and Brazil, strategy and sales, and was responsible for Votorantim Cimentos’ mortar, cement trading, white cement and agricultural products business units in Brazil. He has 10 years of Investment Banking experience (TGX Capital, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase and Banco Patrimonio de Investimentos) and with Goldman Sachs’ Principal Investment Area (PIA) in the Silicon Valley. He is a professor of Finance, Innovation, Venture Capital and Entrepreneurship, Board Member and Senior Researcher at GVcepe, the Private Equity and Venture Capital Research Center of EAESP-FGV, where he has co-authored the Second Census of the Brazilian Private Equity and Venture Capital industry and Economic Impact Study, a 400 page in-depth analysis of this US$ 36.1 billion industry in Brazil. Mr. Lara holds a B.A. in Business Administration from EAESP-FGV and a Master in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School.
